"Art Auction 47" is almost here! The Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings, Montana, is the place to be on March 7th, 2015. This is the major fundraising event of the year for the YAM, in helping to accomplish its' goal to continue preserving Montana's artistic past as well as promoting current artistic growth and enrichment. There are 58 works from local and regional artists included in the Live Auction that evening, as well as 137 unique works available in the Silent Auction. The event begins at 5:00 pm in the Yellowstone Art Museum, when cocktails, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a spirited Quick Draw will start the festivities! The Silent Auction begins at 7:00, and the Live Auction beings in the Montana Gallery of the Museum at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, please contact the Yellowstone Art Museum, or call 406-256-6804.
"Head Honcho", one of the largest bear paintings I have done to date, will be included in this March 7th Live Auction, and it is a 54" x 60" oil on canvas. It will be Lot #28, and for more information please contact the Yellowstone Art Museum.
The Billings Gazette featured a story on the Yellowstone Art Museum's "Art Auction 47", that includes more details about my live and silent auction pieces, as well as spotlighting a very talented emerging artist from Bozeman, Ben Pease.
I have a piece in the Silent Auction wall sale that evening as well, as a full donation to the Yellowstone Art Museum. It is a 12" x 12" oil on panel, titled "No Dice, Study". My black and white horse works in my "Cavallo" series are more of a meditative exercise for me, in working towards painting movement, and expressing the physics behind motion in the exquisite forms of horses, rather than focusing on heavy saturation of colors.
Thank you for reading, and we hope to see you at the Yellowstone Art Museum's "Art Auction 47", on Saturday, March 7th!
